El Progreso de Pedro (2007)
The music of Pedro’s Progress reflects the halting and teasing structure of the classic Mexican novella, Pedro Páramo by Juan Rulfo.
Pedro’s Progress was written for and commissioned by Ana Cervantes in 2007.
It may be played as one complete work of 10 minutes.
Alternatively two of the three sections may be abstracted and presented in isolation.

Seven Dirty Sonnets (1998)
Series of interludes in the structure of a sonnet, originally for bass guitar from the opera Dirty Tricks (1997).
Recorded on CD Turquoise Swans, Sargasso SCD 28035),
also for solo double bass and solo cello.
